When a user forgets their password and can't recover it from login.live.com, you can reset the password for them. Here's how:
-
Select My Organization > Users & Groups > Mailboxes.
-
In the Mailbox list, select the mailbox. For a large list of mailboxes, use the Search mailboxes field and type all or part of a display name.
-
Click Reset Password, and enter the following information:
-
* Password The password length must be between six and 16 characters. It's a good idea to use strong passwords that are at least eight characters long, and combine uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. For more information, see Password Requirements.
-
* Confirm password Retype the password to verify that you typed it correctly.
-
Require password change on next logon It's always a good idea to select this option, because it forces the user to change their password right away. If you don't select this option, the user may never change it.
