Exchange ActiveSync device policies give you control over the devices that your users are synchronizing with Microsoft Exchange. You can enforce policies on devices to increase the security of your organization's data that is stored on and accessed by these devices. Policies give you the ability to configure devices so the user is required to use security features, such as the following:
Lock the device with a PIN.
Encrypt e-mails and Exchange data.
Learn more about how to create and manage ActiveSync device policies:
- Create a New ActiveSync Device Policy
- Change an ActiveSync Device Policy
- Assign an Exchange ActiveSync Device Policy to a User Mailbox
- Change the ActiveSync Settings on a User Mailbox
Note Not all mobile devices support all the Exchange ActiveSync policy settings. If a policy setting isn't supported on a particular device, the device may not apply the setting. You can control whether devices that don't support specific policies are allowed to connect in the General settings for the policy. For more information, see Exchange ActiveSync Mobile Phones and Compatible Features.
