If you try to set up a connection with another account in Outlook Web App and the account settings you provide can't be detected automatically, you'll be prompted to enter IMAP server information for that account. You may also need to enter IMAP server information for the account if you're already connected to the account but the connection isn't working. You do this by opening the account connection in Outlook Web App and entering the correct IMAP server settings. Then you can try to connect again.
From Outlook Web App, click Options > See All Options in the upper-right corner.
Under Account > Connected Accounts, click New.
Enter the account's e-mail address and password, and click Next.
When you're prompted to enter POP or IMAP account connection settings, click IMAP.
Enter the account settings in the following sections and boxes:
Display name This information is required. The display name you enter here is the name recipients see on the From line when you send mail from your connected account in Outlook Web App. For example, if the account's e-mail address is firstname.lastname@example.org, you could use My Contoso Account or Contoso as the display name.
E-mail address This information is required. Enter the e-mail address of your account, for example, email@example.com.
User name This information is required. This is the name you use when you log on to your other account.
Password This information is required. Type the password you use when you log on to your other account.
Incoming server This information is required. Enter the incoming server information for your account. Refer to the table in the "What else do I need to know" section or ask your account provider.
Authentication By default, this is set to Basic. You can select NTLM if it's supported or required by your account provider.
Encryption By default, it's set to SSL. You can select SSL or TLS to provide additional security for your e-mail data as it's transferred over the Internet or set encryption to None. Select SSL or TLS as supported or required by your account provider.
Port By default, this is set to 993 if you select SSL encryption and to 143 if you selected TLS or no encryption. If your account provider uses a different port, you can enter it here. If you don't know the port number, try to connect using the default setting or else ask your account provider. This information is required.
When you've finished, click Save.
What else do I need to know?
You can use the following IMAP connection settings for some of the e-mail providers that are used frequently. If you don't see settings for your account listed, check with your provider. IMAP access is currently unavailable with the Yahoo! Mail Plus, Comcast, and AT&T Worldnet services. If you're connecting to Gmail from Outlook Web App, you need to use POP.

You can manage e-mail arriving for your connected account in Outlook Web App using Inbox rules. Choose It was received through a connection to this account and specify the e-mail address of your connected account to move messages from that account to the folder you specify in Outlook Web App. If you're having trouble, see Learn About Inbox Rules.
