When you enroll your organization, you need to configure your DNS records so your organization can send and receive e-mail, and your users can connect to the service with various client applications.
Here's a roadmap to the DNS records used for the cloud-based service. To learn more about how to configure these records at your domain registrar, see Detailed instructions for specific domain registrars.

An MX record can be used to prove that you own the domain. This is a separate record than the MX record used to direct mail routing, and has a specific format. |

MX |
This value directs all incoming mail for the domain to the cloud-based service and also proves domain ownership. When you enroll, you have to remove any preexisting MX records that aren't related to the cloud-based service from your domain's DNS hosting service. |

This value allows Outlook clients to connect to the cloud-based service by using the Autodiscover service. |

This value identifies authorized outbound e-mail servers so destination messaging servers trust messages originating from your cloud-based domain. |
