Set Up Contacts on Your Mobile Phone

The following procedures show how to set a Windows Mobile phone to access your contacts. You can only synchronise your mobile phone with one mailbox. And even if you have several Contacts folders in your mailbox, you can only synchronise your main Contacts folder with your mobile phone.

How do I set up contacts synchronisation on a Windows Mobile 6.0 phone?

  1. On the mobile phone, from the home screen, click Start, and then click ActiveSync.
  2. Click Menu, and then click Configure Server.
  3. Enter the server address. The server address is m.outlook.com.
  4. Select the This server requires an encrypted (SSL) connection box.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Enter your user name, password and domain.
  7. Select the Save password box.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Select the box for Contacts, and also the box for each kind of information you want to synchronise, and then click Finish.

How do I set up contacts synchronisation on a Windows Mobile 5.0 phone?

  1. On the mobile phone, from the home screen, click Start, and then click ActiveSync.
  2. Click Menu, and then click Configure Server.
  3. Enter the server address. The server address is m.outlook.com.
  4. Select the This server requires an encrypted (SSL) connection box.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Enter your user name, password and domain. The user name should include your name, the at (@) symbol, and your domain name, for example, tony@contoso.com.
  7. Select the Save password box.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Select the box for Contacts, and also the box for each kind of information you want to synchronise, and then click Finish.

What else do I need to know?

  • To synchronise contacts on your mobile phone, you'll need to answer Yes when your mobile phone displays a message that asks if you want to enforce policies. These policies let you to remove all data from your mobile phone through Outlook Web App.
